Senior Contracts Expert

Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Expert to join our team for a hydropower project in Pakistan. This role is vital for ensuring that all contractual matters are effectively managed and that claims are handled promptly and efficiently throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management and claims administration, particularly within the hydropower projects & be well conversant with contractual matters arising on major construction projects, including the following tasks:
 

• Assist the Team Leader in contract administration of the Works contracts;
• Identify & advise on claim-oriented correspondence from contractors;
• Review of contractor’s work program for compliance per contract and identify delays, draft notices on slow progress.
• Evaluate claims related to extension of time, cost impact due to delays, etc.
• Process contract variations & advise on rates, price changes;
• Advise/ Evaluate other cost & time claims lodged by Contractor(s);
• Managing dispute resolutions.
   

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable Applicants Will Have/be
 

• Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. B.Sc/BE in Civil Engineering)
• Minimum 25+ years of experience, including 15 years in construction contract management.
• Familiarity with FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Works is essential.
• 10 years focused on contracts/claims for dams and hydropower projects.
• Internationally or HEC/PEC recognized qualifications.
• Expertise in complex claims, disputes, and contract negotiations.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law and project management.
• Strong communication skills (English) (written & verbal)
