Description:

The Tour Guide (Northern Areas of Pakistan) is a full-time, on-site role based in Islamabad with frequent travel to northern regions such as Hunza, Skardu, Swat, Naran, Azad Kashmir, and surrounding areas. The Tour Guide will lead guided tours for diverse groups, provide accurate information on local culture, history, geography, and customs, and ensure traveler safety and comfort throughout the journey. Responsibilities include coordinating daily itineraries, managing logistics on the ground, assisting with check-ins, transport, and activity arrangements, and responding to traveler inquiries and needs in a professional manner. The role involves delivering engaging commentary, fostering a welcoming atmosphere, promoting responsible tourism practices, and representing Explore North Pakistan’s values of trust, care, and professionalism. The Tour Guide will also support basic sales and promotion of company services during tours and provide feedback to improve future itineraries and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong guided tours experience, including leading groups, managing itineraries, and providing informative on-site commentary.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly, confidently, and respectfully with travelers from diverse backgrounds.
• Proven customer service skills, focused on patience, problem-solving, and creating a positive, inclusive guest experience.
• Knowledge of local and regional history, culture, and landmarks in Pakistan’s Northern Areas, or willingness to learn in depth.
• Basic sales skills, including promoting tour packages and additional services in a professional, ethical manner.
• Fluency in Urdu and strong English language skills; additional foreign languages are an advantage.
• Good physical fitness and readiness to travel frequently, including walking, hiking, and working in varying weather and terrain.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to safety protocols and group coordination.
• Prior experience in tourism, hospitality, or guiding roles is preferred; relevant training or certification in tourism is a plus.
• Valid national ID, ability to travel within Pakistan, and adherence to company policies on responsible and inclusive tourism.
• Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
