Description:
A leading hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Emergency Department (HOD-ER) to lead emergency services. The role requires ensuring high-quality patient care, optimizing department operations, and managing emergency and trauma cases efficiently. The HOD-ER will supervise medical staff, oversee medico-legal cases, and collaborate with law enforcement and hospital administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the emergency department, ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Supervise and mentor medical staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
- Oversee patient flow, triage processes, and emergency response strategies to optimize efficiency.
- Implement quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives in the ER.
- Handle medico-legal cases and maintain close coordination with law enforcement authorities.
- Develop and enforce policies to improve emergency and trauma care services.
- Collaborate with hospital administration to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for ER staff to enhance skills and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications & Experience:
- FCPS or an equivalent foreign qualification in emergency medicine with valid PMDC registration.
- 5–8 years of experience in emergency and trauma care.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- CPSP Supervisor (eligible or approved) preferred.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and handle critical patient cases effectively.
