Agriculture Advisor

Description:

This is a contractual hybrid role (with remote possibilities for certain tasks) based in Islamabad for an Agriculture Advisor. The Agriculture Advisor will be responsible for providing expert guidance on agricultural practices, working on soil health data, conducting field research, analyzing data, and developing strategies to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability. The role will also require working collaboratively with farmers, stakeholders, and research teams to identify challenges, implement solutions, and deliver training sessions aimed at capacity building within the agricultural sector.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Agriculture, Soil Health, Crop Management, and Sustainable Farming Practices
• Skills in Data Collection, Analysis, and Interpretation to support research initiatives
• Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills for collaborating with stakeholders and conducting training sessions
• Experience in Policy Development and Implementation addressing agricultural and rural development challenges
• Experience in evaluating agricultural development projects, with a clear understanding of how different factors contribute to the crop yields in arid and semi-arid (irrigated) regions
• Ability to work on-site and travel to field locations when required
• Familiarity with social, economic, and environmental aspects of agriculture in Pakistan
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related fields
