Description:
Ingredion is seeking a Plant Quality Assurance Manager to lead the quality assurance and quality control functions at the Rakh Canal Plant in Faisalabad. This role involves ensuring the plant's compliance with Ingredion's Integrated Performance System (IPS) pillars, government regulations, customer expectations, and internal standards. The role also requires fostering a culture of continuous improvement, maintaining quality systems, and driving technical excellence.
As part of this dynamic role, the Plant QA Manager will be responsible for overseeing the quality teams, managing customer and regulatory audits, and ensuring the integrity of products through consistent testing and quality controls. This position reports to the Pakistan Quality Assurance Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
Leadership and Behavior:
- Lead all aspects of plant QA/QC using META5 Leadership Competencies.
- Provide guidance to quality teams for implementing and sustaining the IPS pillars within budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with EHSS targets and promote safety management within the quality team.
- Develop, coach, and inspire plant quality teams to achieve operational excellence.
Cultural Improvement:
- Promote quality culture through training, communication, and Quality Month activities.
- Ensure compliance with IPS Reliability and Management Pillars.
- Cascade quality strategies to site leadership and manage quality communication across the plant.
Technical Quality Role:
- Standardize and execute quality processes for consistent, reliable results.
- Act as the gatekeeper for non-conforming product disposition and ensure effective deviation management.
- Oversee Process Technical Specifications and align them with regional/global standards.
- Lead quality change management processes for new products, process changes, and specifications.
Communication and Data Reporting:
- Report plant quality KPIs adhering to global policies and ensure accurate data collection.
- Immediately report major quality or food safety issues and leverage regional/global resources to manage them effectively.
- Collaborate with supplier quality teams to ensure raw material compliance.
Internal and External Audits:
- Serve as the primary contact for external audits, including customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
- Respond professionally to audit non-conformances and manage customer inquiries.
Customer and Query Management:
- Drive reduction in customer complaints by addressing root causes and systemic issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing quality challenges effectively.
Qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in Quality, Engineering, Food Science, or Food Technology.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in QA/QC, Continuous Improvement, or Supplier Quality Management.
- Fluent in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety regulations, pest control, and product safety.
- Data-driven decision-making skills with a customer-focused approach.
Desirable Requirements:
- Proficiency in IPS, ISO 9001, HACCP, GFSI schemes (e.g., FSSC 22000, BRC), and Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and advanced statistical techniques.
