Principal Engineer

Description:

Rafhan Maize Products Co. Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Principal Engineer – Maintenance for its Rakh Canal Plant in Faisalabad. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling operations, maintenance, project functions, resources, and staff while ensuring efficient performance and compliance with company policies. This leadership role involves managing a team of 25 direct reports across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, utilities, and civil disciplines, with a strong focus on operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities include:

Operations & Maintenance:

• Oversee O&M of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and utility systems (including compressors, cooling towers, pumps, conveyors, dryers, elevators, mills, centrifuges, motors, generators, switchgears, and 132 KV grid stations).

• Apply maintenance methodologies such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance, Condition-Based Maintenance, and Time-Bound Maintenance.

Project Management:

• Design and modify mechanical and electrical systems to meet process needs.

• Manage CAPEX projects, ensuring timelines and budget adherence.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain an effective inventory management system for critical machinery parts.

• Evaluate materials, manage procurement, and monitor deliveries.

Contractor Management:

• Oversee contractor activities, evaluate bids, manage petty contracts, and ensure project execution within budget and deadlines.

People Management:

• Lead multidisciplinary teams, promote best working practices, provide technical guidance, and develop effective teams.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement:

• Ensure adherence to company policies, EHS, IMS, ISO, GPM, and food safety standards.

• Initiate and implement continuous improvement projects for energy conservation and process optimisation.

Stakeholder Management:

• Coordinate with procurement for cost-effective sourcing of materials.

• Enhance workforce capabilities through targeted training programs.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (B.Tech / B.Sc. / M.Sc.).

• Expertise in O&M of mechanical and electrical systems.

• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), Lean Six Sigma, MS Office, AutoCAD, ETAB, and Power BI.

• Strong understanding of international standards for EHS, IMS, and food safety.

• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).

• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
