Planning And Estimation Engineer

UsamTech is seeking a Planning and Estimation Engineer with 3 to 4 years of experience in cost estimation, bidding, and project planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, managing the bidding process, and developing project schedules. This is a full-time role with the flexibility of remote or hybrid working arrangements, ideal for candidates with a master’s degree in civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimation Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.

• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BOQs.

• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing.

• Analyze project risks and implement cost-saving strategies while ensuring quality and compliance.

• Ensure alignment with TX DOT standards, item codes, and project requirements.

Bidding Responsibilities:

• Prepare bid proposals, documents, and prequalification submissions.

• Analyze RFPs, RFQs, and ITBs to ensure bid compliance.

• Develop and submit competitive bids within required deadlines.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate contracts.

• Maintain a database of historical pricing for future reference.

Planning & Scheduling Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or Excel.

• Allocate resources efficiently and ensure project deadlines are met.

• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and prepare reports.

• Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (master’s degree preferred).

• Experience: 3 to 4 years in estimation, bidding, and project planning.

• Expertise in estimation software like Plan swift, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or CostX.

• Proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, BOQs, and project specifications.

• Familiarity with TX DOT standards and item codes.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of infrastructure, highways, bridges, or building construction.

• Strong communication and coordination skills for stakeholder engagement.
