Position: Mineral Testing Chemist
Eshal Mining & Minerals Industries is looking for an experienced Chemist with practical experience in mineral and ore testing for our laboratory and quality control operations.
Required Experience
Candidates must have hands-on laboratory experience in chemical analysis of minerals, ores and concentrates.
Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked in a mineral testing laboratory, mining company, mineral processing plant, inspection laboratory, or metallurgical laboratory.
Key Testing Responsibilities
The selected Chemist will be responsible for testing and analysis of:
• Fluorspar: CaF₂, SiO₂, CaCO₃
• Chromite: Cr₂O₃, Fe and Cr/Fe Ratio
• Barite: Specific Gravity (SG), BaSO₄ and Moisture
• Copper Ore & Concentrate: Cu%
• Magnesite: MgO
• Bauxite: Al₂O₃, SiO₂, Fe₂O₃
• Other industrial minerals and ores as required
Technical Responsibilities
• Perform wet chemical analysis of minerals and ores
• Conduct titration, gravimetric and volumetric analysis
• Prepare reagents and standard solutions
• Perform sample preparation including crushing, grinding, sieving and digestion
• Operate laboratory instruments and testing equipment
• Knowledge of XRF/XRD analysis will be an advantage
• Maintain calibration and quality-control procedures
• Prepare accurate Certificates of Analysis (COA) and internal laboratory reports
• Cross-check internal results against SGS, Bureau Veritas and other third-party laboratory results
• Support production teams in maintaining required mineral grades
Qualification & Experience
Education: BSc / MSc in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of practical experience in mineral/ore testing is preferred.
