Linux System Administrator

Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented System Administrator (Linux) to join our client’s IT team in F-5, Islamabad.

Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and associated software environments.

- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal system performance.

- Perform regular system updates, security patches, and upgrades.

- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security policies.

- Implement and oversee backup strategies and disaster recovery solutions.

- Support development, testing, and production environments.

- Maintain detailed system documentation and operational procedures.

- Collaborate with the client’s IT team on system improvement initiatives.

- Ensure the security and integrity of systems and network infrastructure according to industry best practices.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 2-3 years of professional experience as a Linux System Administrator.

- Strong understanding of Linux-based operating systems (such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL).

- Familiarity with system monitoring tools and shell scripting.

- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

- Exposure to cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or others is an advantage.

- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Good communication and technical documentation skills.
