Description:
Your role: As a Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting team with various financial tasks and projects. This internship is designed to provide you with practical experience and exposure to real-world accounting practices, helping you build a strong foundation for your career in accounting.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in performing basic accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) tasks.
- Support the team in drafting financial reports, including annual statements.
- Help in compiling and analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Assist project managers in financial system transitions or upgrades.
- Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions, offering fresh perspectives and ideas.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by management/team lead to support the overall objectives of the accounting department.
The Qualifications/Skills:
- Pursuing or recently completed ACCA, CA, or ICMA certification.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
- Strong academic background with relevant coursework in accounting and finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and roles at all levels within the firm.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new challenges.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
