Employment Law Paralegal

 

Description:

One of our clients is seeking an experienced Employment Law Paralegal to join their remote team. The successful candidate will work directly with the firm's attorneys, providing day-to-day support on employment law matters from client intake through case preparation.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a U.S. employment law practice, is highly organized, communicates effectively with clients, and can manage multiple matters while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the firm's attorneys to support employment law matters.
  • Communicate with clients throughout their case, gather information, answer routine questions, and provide case updates.
  • Assist clients experiencing workplace issues, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment-related matters.
  • Draft correspondence, legal documents, declarations, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other documents for attorney review.
  • Prepare and organize case files, exhibits, and supporting documents for hearings, mediations, depositions, and attorney meetings.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings related to employment law issues.
  • Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure documents are properly filed and easy to locate.
  • Track deadlines, maintain attorney calendars, and assist with case scheduling.
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, process servers, and third-party vendors when needed.
  • Assist with discovery, document collection, and document organization.
  • Help prepare legal forms and filings in accordance with court and agency requirements.
  • Support attorneys with administrative and case management tasks as needed.
  • Assist with other projects and responsibilities that support the firm's clients and operations.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of paralegal experience in a U.S. law firm.
  • Experience supporting attorneys in employment law matters is strongly preferred.
  • Experience assisting individuals with workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, or similar employment-related claims.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong legal drafting and proofreading skills.
  • Solid legal research experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple matters and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with attorneys and team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is a plus.
