Data Migration & E-commerce Specialist

 

Description:

We are seeking a Data Migration & E-Commerce Specialist to lead and execute all data-related activities for our migration from BigCommerce Enterprise to BigCommerce B2B Edition.

This role is critical to ensuring data accuracy, platform stability, and smooth B2B functionality, including testing key e-commerce workflows and coordinating with internal and technical stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Data Cloning

* Clone the existing website theme into the BigCommerce B2B sandbox environment

* Configure and validate B2B email templates

* Clone products, brands, and categories into the new B2B platform

* Test and validate the impact of product version migration on cloned listings

Data Cleansing & Preparation

* Clean, normalize, and group account data into accurate company records

* De-duplicate and standardize customer and address data

* Build final datasets for companies, addresses, and sales staff assignments

Data Imports & Auditing

* Import company, address, and sales staff datasets into the B2B system

* Audit imported data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy

* Identify and resolve discrepancies or migration issues

Functional Testing

* Test user sign-in, product browsing, and checkout workflows

* Validate customer order history visibility and permissions

* Test new product creation and live listing workflows

* Verify distributor quote flows and restricted ordering logic

Project Coordination & Documentation

* Follow the migration project plan and meet assigned deadlines

* Document processes, test cases, results, and progress updates

* Coordinate with stakeholders, developers, and technical teams

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Management, E-Commerce, or a related field

Experience

* Experience with data migration, e-commerce operations, or system integrations

* Hands-on experience working with large datasets

* Experience supporting platform migrations or re-platforming projects

Technical Skills

* Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (formulas, normalization, de-duplication, grouping)

* SQL and database querying for reporting and validation

* Scripting knowledge (Python and/or JavaScript) for automation and APIs

* Strong understanding of data import/export and validation processes

Soft Skills

* Strong organizational and task-tracking skills

* Excellent written and verbal English communication

* High attention to detail and data accuracy

* Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and business teams

Nice-to-Have

* Experience with BigCommerce (especially B2B Edition)

* Understanding of e-commerce data structures

* REST API integration experience

* Familiarity with BigCommerce Stencil themes (CSS/JavaScript assets)
