🚀 We're Hiring: Chartered Accountant (Software Accounting Validation)

📍 Lahore | Hybrid | Karma Software Solutions

You'll independently verify that every calculation, posting, and report in our in-house accounting software is correct, compliant, and audit-ready, working between finance and engineering and signing off before releases go live.

🔹 What you'll do
• Validate the accounting engine: COA, double-entry postings, journals, ledgers, TB, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow
• Verify tax (GST/VAT, WHT/TDS, corporate), depreciation, accruals, provisions, revenue recognition, inventory, FX, consolidation
• Ensure compliance with IFRS / US GAAP / local GAAP and statutory reporting
• Reconcile system output against independent calculations and trace every variance to root cause
• Write functional specs, accounting rules, and worked examples developers can build from
• Review data models and posting logic; act as a domain expert in sprint planning and product decisions
• Design test cases for edge cases (period-end close, reversals, partial payments, multi-currency, rounding, year-end rollover)
• Run UAT, give formal release sign-off, maintain a regression library, and track defects to closure
• Ensure audit trails, access controls, segregation of duties, and data integrity; support external, SOC, and ITGC audits
• Turn changes in standards and tax law into system change requests
• Validate opening balances and historical data in legacy migrations

✅ What you bring
• Qualified CA in good standing
• 5+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting, audit, reporting, or finance systems
• 3+ years hands-on with accounting software/ERP (implementation, configuration, testing, or product development)
• Proven track record validating accounting logic in a software product (SaaS, fintech, or ERP ideal)
• Deep knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP, direct and indirect tax, and statutory reporting
• Agile/Scrum experience working with developers
• Excellent written English that turns complex rules into clear specs
