Assistant Manager

 

Description:

Job Overview: The Assistant Manager will lead the audit assurance and accounting assignments. He/she will also oversee the planning, execution, and reporting phases of assignments in compliance with financial reporting standards (IFRS, FRS, IAS), audit standards (ISA-UK), applicable legal requirements, and the firm’s methodologies. This role involves continuous skill development, team supervision, and contribution to firm-wide objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Audit and Accounting Leadership:

Guide assignments in line with IFRS, FRS, IAS, ISA-UK, and other relevant standards and laws.

• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and adherence to the firm’s audit methodology.

• Lead by example, upholding the firm’s discipline and following senior management instructions.

 

2. Professional Development and Training:

Continuously enhance software skills and attend relevant training sessions.

• Complete educational qualifications and encourage team members to do the same.

• Research and suggest improvements in work culture and methods, updating the team on changes in standards and laws.

 

3. Team Management and Performance Tracking:

Supervise and monitor team performance, adding value towards the firm's objectives.

• Conduct performance appraisals as required by the HR Department.

• Foster a team spirit, assisting other teams/managers and seeking help when needed.

 

4. Efficiency and Time Management:

Track team timesheets in compliance with assignment budgets to improve efficiency.

• Focus on enhancing communication skills, time management skills, and other relevant competencies of team members.

 

5. Collaboration and Communication:

Build and maintain team spirit across the firm, facilitating collaboration.

• Help improve overall communication and related skills within the team.

 

6. Additional Responsibilities:

Undertake any other related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP ERP, Oracle Financials)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Good understanding of taxation and regulatory frameworks
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

 

Qualifications:

  • CA Finalist with 5+ years of experience.
  • Prior experience in a Big 4 or reputed firm (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) preferred.
