Account Officer

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Finance Officer to oversee accounting operations, corporate financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, tax planning, and audit coordination.

The role combines hands-on financial management with supervision of accounting support staff, ensuring accurate reporting, effective financial controls, and timely insights for management decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily accounting and finance operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
  • Supervise accounting support staff and review transactions, journal entries, ledger balances, and reconciliations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing and prepare financial statements and monthly management accounts.
  • Develop executive dashboards covering financial performance, cash flow, receivables, payables, and budget variances.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyze performance variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Oversee payment processing, including the preparation and review of payment vouchers, cheques, and bank transfer documentation for approval and authorized signature.
  • Monitor working capital, outstanding receivables, supplier payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate tax planning, filings, and statutory compliance with relevant advisers.
  • Manage internal and external audit coordination, maintain supporting schedules, and resolve audit findings.
  • Strengthen financial controls, accounting procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Use ERP, advanced Excel, and appropriate AI tools to improve analysis, reporting, and efficiency while maintaining confidentiality and verifying outputs.
  • Present financial results, risks, and recommendations clearly to management.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualification: Fully qualified ACCA, CA finalist, or MS/MBA in Finance.
  • Experience: At least 3 years, preferably 4 or more, of relevant post-qualification corporate accounts and finance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial closing, management reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, and tax compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software or ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Practical experience using modern technology platforms, including AI tools, for accounting, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A high level of ownership, accuracy, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams, manage priorities, and meet reporting deadlines.
