Description:
The Utilities Engineer will be responsible for ensuring reliable steam production and supply, delivering dry and specification-compliant compressed and instrument air, maintaining effective circulating water flow, and managing canal water pretreatment for quality soft water. Additionally, the role involves generating innovative ideas and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Steam Supply – Quality and reliable production of steam and supply to the plant.
- Compressed Air – Dry and within specification supply of compressed and instrument air to the plant.
- Circulating Water – Adequate and effective supply of circulating water to different sections of the plant.
- Water Pretreatment – Pretreatment of canal water and preparation of quality soft water for process use.
- Ground Water – Ensuring adequate and reliable supply of ground water to the plant.
- Chilled Water – Ensure supply of chilled water to the Dextrose and MSD plant through efficient operations of refrigerant chillers.
- SNG Supply – Reliable and smooth supply of SNG to gas firing equipment in case of non-availability or low pressure of natural gas or when required.
- Natural Gas Monitoring – Monitoring and managing supply of natural gas from metering station to boilers and dryers/equipment.
- Wastewater Treatment – Operation of wastewater treatment plant according to NEQS limit.
- Crew Management – Administrative control of operation crew.
- Inventory Control – Indenting, inspection, and inventory control of spares relating to utilities.
- Safety Compliance – Implementing safety measures on all related jobs.
- Department Objectives – Setting objectives of department and controlling related parameters to achieve those objectives.
- Boiler Tuning – Tuning of boilers periodically.
Mandatory Requirements
- Degree BSc. Chemical / Mechanical Engineer
- Minimum 5-year experience as Utilities operations including coal fired powerhouse & WWTP
- Knowledge of utilities operations and maintenance
