Senior Database Administrator

Description:

Responsibilities:

Ensure the availability, scalability, and performance of the organization’s database systems.
Collaborate with the SRE team on production changes and incident mitigation.
Set up encryption, user authentication, and access control to safeguard data.
Continuously monitor database performance, resolve bugs, and implement indexing, query optimization, and tuning techniques to enhance solution performance.
Plan and manage the capacity of database infrastructure.
Work directly with development and infrastructure teams to enhance the performance and observability of various database services.
Administer and troubleshoot SQL databases, including security patching, SQL tuning, capacity planning, and schema design.
Design and implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate database outages and downtime.
Automate routine maintenance, monitoring, and deployment procedures.
Analyze solutions and implement best practices for database management.
Create and optimize database schema views ensuring effective data storage and retrieval.
Requirements and Skills:

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
6-7 years of experience with relational databases in production environments, particularly with SQL Server (SQL Server 2019+).
Proficient in SQL, database and query optimization, and data security.
Proven track record of designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining databases on a large scale.
Expertise in data modeling and structure design.
Proficient with SQL Server Reporting.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Analytical skills with experience in troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
