Description:
FBRC (fbrcmanufacturing.com) is a modern apparel sourcing and manufacturing business specializing in export of premium casual westernwear. We are seeking a highly precise, authoritative Garment Technician (Technical Development & Quality Control) to lead our technical execution and quality assurance protocols.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design concepts and industrial execution, ensuring that all knitwear and woven products meet exact fit, construction, and quality benchmarks. You will oversee pattern accuracy, troubleshoot fabric behavior, and enforce strict factory-floor quality controls across menswear and womenswear categories.
Key Technical Responsibilities
1. Technical Development & Pattern Engineering
Review, interpret, and validate client Tech Packs for production feasibility.
Oversee pattern making, grading, and consumption optimization to ensure structural integrity across all size runs.
Conduct comprehensive fit sessions, analyze drape and balance, and execute precise fit correction comments.
2. Factory-Floor & Production Quality Control
Monitor critical production phases—including commercial dyeing, cutting, sewing, and assembly—to guarantee zero deviation from approved pre-production samples.
Implement and enforce quality checkpoints on the line to catch and rectify construction errors in real time.
3. Technical Troubleshooting & Risk Mitigation
Analyze and calculate fabric shrinkage, torque, and growth to adjust patterns accurately before bulk cutting.
Proactively troubleshoot fabric behavior, dyeing defects, wash sensitivity, and construction flaws prior to bulk production.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with the merchandising and production teams to translate complex client design requirements into repeatable factory-floor processes.
Technical Qualifications
Experience: Proven track record as a Garment Technician or Technical Designer in export-oriented apparel manufacturing.
Product Expertise: Advanced knowledge of casual westernwear silhouettes (menswear and womenswear tops and bottoms) in both Knitwear and Woven structures.
Material & Process Mastery: Deep technical grounding in high-GSM heavyweights (fleece, French terry), jersey, denim, and twill fabrications. Solid understanding of commercial dyeing, garment washing, and industrial finishing techniques.
Technical Skills: Expert-level mastery of garment construction, stitch classification, seam properties, and pattern grading.
Precision: Exceptional attention to detail with an analytical approach to solving tolerances, fit issues, and manufacturing anomalies.
