Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to lead the finance function for our Smart Infrastructure Business Line, with a strong focus on civil works, roads, construction, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in project-based finance, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls, ensuring financial discipline and operational efficiency across large-scale infrastructure deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead end-to-end financial management of infrastructure and construction projects.
- Ensure accurate and timely project-wise financial reporting, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, and profitability analysis.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports, dashboards, and insights to senior management.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial models for civil and infrastructure projects.
- Implement robust budgetary controls and monitor variances with actionable insights.
- Ensure proper allocation of costs across CAPEX, OPEX, and project-specific expenditures.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising project delivery timelines.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control frameworks across finance and project operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Strengthen financial governance, risk management, and audit readiness.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes.
Project Accounting & ERP Management
- Ensure accurate project costing, WIP tracking, and margin analysis.
- Oversee ERP systems to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and real-time financial visibility.
- Drive automation and process improvements in finance systems and reporting.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage all taxation matters including sales tax, income tax, and withholding tax relevant to construction/infrastructure projects.
- Ensure timely filings and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with project teams, engineering, procurement, and operations.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies where required.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience in construction, civil works, roads, or infrastructure sector finance (mandatory).
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for large-scale projects.
- Expertise in financial reporting, project accounting, and cost control mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing internal controls frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
