Buyer & Planner

 

Description:

The Buyer & Planner will be responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle management – from assortment planning, buying, and vendor negotiations, to managing demand forecasts, stock allocations, and marketplace performance. The role requires strong analytical and commercial acumen, deep knowledge of the footwear industry, and hands-on experience with eCommerce marketplace operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Buying & Merchandising

• Develop seasonal footwear and apparel buying strategies aligned with market trends, brand positioning, and customer demand.

• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best costs, payment terms, and delivery timelines.

• Manage product assortment, SKU selection, pricing strategy, and markdown planning.

• Conduct competitive market analysis to identify growth opportunities and pricing gaps.

 

Planning & Inventory Management

• Create and maintain sales, stock, and replenishment forecasts to ensure optimal inventory levels.

• Monitor sell-through rates, margins, and category performance, recommending corrective actions where needed.

• Plan and execute product allocation across retail stores and eCommerce channels.

• Reduce stock-outs and overstock situations through effective demand planning.

 

eCommerce & Marketplace Management

• Oversee product listings, pricing, promotions, and content optimization across eCommerce platforms and marketplaces (Amazon, Noon, etc.).

• Coordinate with marketing and operations teams to execute online campaigns and seasonal launches.

• Track KPIs such as GMV, conversion rates, sell-through, and returns, ensuring targets are achieved.

• Analyze digital performance and recommend actions to maximize online revenue.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with retail, marketing, logistics, and finance teams to align buying and planning with business goals.

• Build strong vendor and brand relationships to secure exclusive launches and competitive advantages.

• Provide periodic business performance reports and insights to management.

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferably in Business, Ecommerce, Supply Chain, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in footwear and fashion buying & planning, with proven expertise in retail and eCommerce.

• Hands-on experience in eCommerce marketplace management (Amazon, Noon, bazar, Namshi etc.).

• Strong analytical and commercial skills, with ability to interpret sales data and market trends.

• Excellent English communication (written & verbal); Arabic is an added advantage.

• Proficiency in Excel, planning tools ).

• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and presentation skills.
