Accounts Officer

 

Description:

The Accounts Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with Pakistani tax and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on managing day-to-day bookkeeping currently maintained in MS Excel and supporting the gradual migration of financial data and processes to accounting software such as Odoo, QuickBooks or other similar software. The position also supports management through basic financial reporting and insights.

 

Main Responsibilities:

You will support the accounting and finance functions across the firm’s operations in Pakistan, Canada, and the UAE, working collaboratively with the finance team to deliver the responsibilities outlined below:

 

A. Bookkeeping and Financial Record keeping:

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper posting of all transactions.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all accounting entries in line with audit requirements

 

B. Monthly and Annual Closing:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis to explain movements in revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Collaborate with external accountant for annual audits and other compliances.

 

C. Management Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management report for all three country offices.
  • Provide summary of revenue, director’s shares, director’s loans and expenses, etc.
  • Generate dashboards for directors to overview all three country offices.

 

D. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for semi-annual, annual, two years.
  • Budgets for cash flow and revenue generation.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or ACCA/CA-Inter/ICMA (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting within Pakistan.
  • Strong knowledge of Pakistan tax laws, sales tax, and withholding tax.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks and Odoo.
  • Understanding of IFRS and local accounting practices.
