Wanile Technologies is a product engineering studio focused on SaaS and AI-driven products for global clients (fintech, legal-tech, ed-tech, marketplace platforms, etc.). We design and build end-to-end products, from idea to MVP to scale.

 

We are now looking for a Vice President of Engineering (VP Engineering) to own our engineering function, build a high-performing team, and help us scale to the next level.

 

 

Role Overview

 

As VP Engineering, you will:

• Lead and grow the engineering team (currently ~27 people and expanding).

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of multiple SaaS / AI projects.

• Work closely with the Founder/CEO, Product, and Design teams to turn business goals into scalable tech solutions.

• Set the engineering culture, processes, and standards for the whole company.

 

This is a hands-on leadership role. We are not looking for a “just manager”, we want someone who can think, design, review architecture, and dive into code when needed.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Technical Leadership

• Define and own the overall technical strategy and architecture across products.

• Make key decisions on stack, infrastructure, scalability, security, and performance.

• Review critical code, designs, and architecture for complex features / systems.

 

Team & Culture

• Hire, mentor, and manage full-stack engineers, AI engineers, DevOps, QA, etc.

• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, clean code, documentation, and learning.

• Set up career paths, performance reviews, and growth plans for engineers.

 

Delivery & Execution

• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of multiple projects in parallel.

• Set up and improve engineering processes (sprints, code review, CI/CD, QA, release management).

• Work with Product and Project Managers to estimate, plan, and prioritize work.

 

AI & Product Innovation

• Work with the team on AI-driven products (RAG, GPT-based features, automation, agents, etc.).

• Challenge product ideas, suggest better solutions, and think from a business + user perspective.

• Keep the company updated with latest tools, frameworks, best practices and bring them into our workflow.

 

Stakeholder Management

• Communicate clearly with clients, founder, and non-technical stakeholders.

• Translate technical topics into simple business language.

• Take responsibility when things go wrong and lead the team towards solutions.

 

 

Our Tech Stack (Typical)

 

You don’t need to know every single thing on day one, but you should be comfortable with most of these:

• Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript

• Backend: Node.js / Express / NestJS (Python/Django/FastAPI is a plus)

• Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis

• Cloud & DevOps: AWS / GCP / Azure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, basic Kubernetes knowledge is a plus

• AI: OpenAI / similar LLMs, RAG, vector databases, automation tools

 

 

Requirements

• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• 4+ years in a senior leadership role (Head of Engineering / VP / CTO / Tech Lead managing teams).

• Strong experience with web-based SaaS products (ideally using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React).

• Proven track record of leading teams of 8–20+ engineers.

• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, scalability, and security.

• Strong experience with Agile delivery, sprint planning, and release processes.

• Ability to speak both “tech” and “business”: can discuss architecture with engineers and ROI with founders/clients.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, sometimes chaotic startup environment.
