Tendering Engineer

Description:

MAK Power is looking for experienced and motivated Tendering Engineers with expertise in Substation and Overhead Line (OHL) projects, ranging from 33kV to 400kV. This role supports UK-based projects and involves close collaboration with various teams including Design Engineering, Project Management, and Business Development. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and have a proactive approach to managing tender processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate cost estimates for new project bids, ensuring alignment with client requirements.

• Create clear and comprehensive tender documents.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

• Negotiate commercial terms and manage supplier relationships.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide pricing and technical support.

• Generate reports for external quotations and internal approvals.

• Understand substation Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), layouts, HV assets, protection/control systems, and SCADA.

• Apply relevant standards, codes, and regulations effectively in the tendering process.

• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers throughout the tendering process.

• Support the engineering team in preparing design concepts, BoMs, and compliance matrices.

• Manage technical discussions and schedules with clients.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years’ relevant experience in tendering or project engineering roles.

• Skills: Strong technical knowledge of electrical substation design and automation. Excellent interpersonal, planning, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Additional: Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Willingness to work flexible or unsocial hours to align with overseas client time zones.
