Description:
Deel is growing at an unprecedented rate, both organically and through strategic acquisitions. We are looking for a Senior Technical Projects Engineer who thrives in the High-Stakes environment of Mergers & Acquisitions and complex system architecture. You won't just be managing tools; you will be the lead engineer responsible for the technical marriage of newly acquired companies into the Deel ecosystem.
Your mission is to ensure that on acquisition, users, data, and security protocols are migrated seamlessly with zero downtime and total compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Tenant Consolidation & Migration: Lead the technical execution of migrating users and data across disparate environments (e.g., merging an acquired company’s MS 365 Tenant or Google Workspace into Deel’s primary instances).
- Identity Architecture (Okta): Architect and implement complex Okta integrations, including Hub-and-Spoke models, Org 2 Org migrations, and custom SCIM provisioning logic for newly acquired entities.
- Inter-System: Build (or work with the automations team) and maintain the automation glue (using internal tooling or custom scripts) that connects internal systems, Okta, and Google Workspace to ensure data integrity during M&A transitions.
- M&A Technical Execution: Act as the lead engineer for post-merger integration (PMI). This includes domain migrations, DNS cutovers, and consolidating disparate Slack instances or IT platforms.
- Zero-Trust Deployment: Work with the Security team to ensure that all newly integrated systems and devices meet Deel’s Zero-Trust standards before they are allowed on the corporate network.
- Architectural Documentation: Create high-level technical diagrams and Playbooks for M&A integration to ensure our process becomes faster and more repeatable with every acquisition.
Technical Qualifications
- Identity Expert: Deep, hands-on experience with Okta (specifically Org 2 Org migrations and advanced SAML/OIDC troubleshooting).
- Multi-Tenant Mastery: Proven experience managing and migrating Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments at an enterprise scale. You should be comfortable with tools like BitTitan, MoveIT, CloudM or native migration APIs.
- Integration Tooling: Experience with IPaaS platforms (Workato, Okta Workflows) and a strong command of APIs (REST/JSON) to automate data flow between systems.
- Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g. Python, Go, JavaScript), with the ability to read and reason about code across languages.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Understanding of AWS or GCP environments as they relate to corporate identity and networking.
Behavioral Qualifications
- Context-Switching Resilience: Ability to dive deep into a complex M&A project for 3 months and then pivot to a different architectural challenge without loss of momentum.
- The Special Ops Mindset: You enjoy solving the unsolvable puzzles of legacy systems and outdated infrastructure found in acquired companies.
- Strategic Communication: Ability to explain complex technical migration risks to non-technical M&A leads and executive stakeholders.
