Rf Field Engineer

 

Description:

The RF Field Engineer will be responsible for planning, installing, optimizing, and maintaining RF links and wireless infrastructure for ISP operations. The role includes deployment and maintenance of point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PMP) radio links, performing surveys, conducting spectrum analysis, troubleshooting field issues, and ensuring stable connectivity for both enterprise and home users.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. RF Planning & Deployment

Conduct RF site surveys for PTP and PMP links.

Perform link budget calculations, LOS analysis, and path feasibility studies.

Deploy wireless radios, antennas, and related RF equipment (Ubiquiti, Cambium, Infinet, etc.).

Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and optimization of RF antennas.

2. Operations & Maintenance

Monitor RF equipment performance and link stability.

Troubleshoot RF-related issues including interference, signal drops, alignment problems, throughput degradation, RSSI/SNR fluctuations, and latency issues.

Identify and analyze interference sources using spectrum analyzers or software tools.

Respond to field outages, customer complaints, and service degradation incidents.

3. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain updated records of link diagrams, site details, and equipment inventory.

Prepare installation reports, survey reports, and performance optimization documents.

Update network topology and RF documentation as required.

4. Coordination & Support

Coordinate with Support, NOC, field, and backend teams for issue resolution.

Provide technical support during customer onboarding and enterprise link deployments.

Assist in upgrades, migrations, and new site rollouts.

5. Wifi zone surveys and deployments

Conduct Wifi surveys.

Deploy Wifi routers, Access points.

Ensure proper Configuration and optimum network erfomance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science.

1–3 years of hands-on experience in ISP RF operations.

Experience with radios such as Ubiquiti, Cambium, Infinet, Huawei.

Proficiency with RF tools including link planners, spectrum analyzers, and alignment tools.

Strong problem-solving ability and field troubleshooting skills.

Preferred

• Candidates with fieldwork experience or previous experience in an ISP environment will be preferred.
