Photonics Lab at GIKI is offering an exciting 12-month contract opportunity for the position of Research Associate, starting from 1st May 2025. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about communication and optical systems, looking to gain hands-on research experience in a cutting-edge lab environment.

The selected candidate will work on the development of a free-space optical communication prototype, contributing to meaningful experimental R&D funded by the Resolve R&D Center, SUPARCO. This opportunity provides a valuable platform for those intending to pursue further studies or careers in advanced tech fields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct experimental research in free-space optical and communication systems

• Support the development and testing of system prototypes

• Work collaboratively within a professional lab environment on a full-time basis

• Learn and apply new tools, software, and technologies relevant to optical and signal systems

Who Can Apply:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, or related fields

• Proficiency in Matlab, LabView, and Python

• Willingness to work full-time (Monday to Friday) in the lab

• Strong understanding of electronic circuits, signal processing, and communication systems

• Eagerness to learn new skills, tools, and technologies

• Prior hands-on experience in communication or optical systems is a plus
