Procurement Engineer

 

Description:

AESOM is seeking a Procurement Engineer (Building Projects – U.S. Market) to join our dynamic Estimation and Construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, sourcing construction materials, and ensuring compliance with U.S. standards and client specifications.

This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in procurement, estimation support, and vendor management within international projects—especially those aligned with U.S. General Contracting (GC) or Design-Build environments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers for building materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
  • Prepare and analyze RFQs (Request for Quotation) and RFPs (Request for Proposal).
  • Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms in alignment with project budgets.
  • Develop and maintain vendor databases and performance records.
  • Coordinate closely with Estimation, Planning, and Project Management teams.
  • Ensure all materials comply with U.S. codes, specifications, and LEED/sustainability standards.
  • Review and verify BOQs, submittals, and technical data sheets.
  • Track purchase orders, deliveries, and logistics for overseas shipments.

 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of procurement experience in building or infrastructure projects.
  • Prior exposure to U.S. or international GC firms (Bechtel, Fluor, Kiewit, Parsons, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, vendor sourcing, and cost benchmarking.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Bluebeam, AutoCAD (for material verification), and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple project packages under tight deadlines.
