Description:

  • Ensure long term, cost effective maintenance of equipment and facility.
  • Monitors, maintains, and upgrades controls, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and other control equipment.
  • Manages projects to minimize investment cost while providing facilities that require a minimum operating cost (maximum throughput, energy efficiency).
  • Develop and maintain technical training documentation on plant’s physical assets.
  • Assists Mechanics with troubleshooting and repairing program or controls issues.
  • Writes moderate to complex control programs and designs new control systems.
  • Performs periodic inspections, system testing, and control systems calibration.
  • Oversees control system upgrades.
  • Hands- on experience in equipment reliability, trouble Shooting, installation and Commissioning.
  • Daily responsibilities include solutions implementation, support site operations and maintenance team objectives.
  • The engineer shall have and demonstrate skills in requirements gathering, design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutions including batch software, Distribute Control Systems (DCS), HMI packages, SCADA systems, PC networking technology
  • Responsible to manage automation improvement projects, equipment modifications and upgrades, PLC, HMI Control techniques.
  • Serve as a working technical member of the Manufacturing Engineering Team supporting all processes throughout the Athens, GA site
  • Ensure equipment uptime through the expedient, effective resolutions of production equipment problems to meet customer service objectives for the line fill rates
  • Perform regular checks and diagnostics on PLC systems and associated equipment to identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop, test, and modify PLC programs to optimize performance and meet production requirements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and repair PLC-related faults and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical and automation systems.
  • Document PLC configurations, changes, and maintenance activities comprehensively.
  • Provide technical support and training to other operators and maintenance personnel on PLC operations.
  • Analyze and interpret data from PLC systems to make informed decisions and improvements.
  • Stay updated with the latest PLC technologies and best practices to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new PLC, Electrical systems and upgrades to latest technology.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on system performance, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Implement and monitor control strategies to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
