Enertia is an innovation-driven company developing premium home appliances with a strong focus on engineering excellence and product innovation. We are looking for a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the complete product development lifecycle—from concept and prototyping to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and complete products using 3D CAD software.
- Prepare production-ready 2D drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Design sheet metal components optimized for CNC laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, and fabrication.
- Develop injection-molded plastic parts by considering wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses, snap-fits, and manufacturability.
- Design and validate prototypes using 3D printing and incorporate feedback into design improvements.
- Design simple machined components involving turning, threading, knurling, milling, drilling, tapping, and other conventional machining operations.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product quality, manufacturability, and cost.
- Select appropriate materials based on functionality, strength, corrosion resistance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Work closely with R&D, Production, Procurement, Quality Control, and Electronics teams during product development.
- Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, engineering changes, and production implementation.
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawing revisions, and technical records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical/product design and development.
Required Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Strong expertise in Sheet Metal Design, including:
- CNC Laser Cutting
- CNC Press Brake / Bending
- Fabrication & Welding Considerations
- Production Drawing Preparation
- Good understanding of Injection Molded Plastic Part Design, including:
- Draft Angles
- Wall Thickness
- Ribs & Bosses
- Snap-fit Features
- Moldability & Shrinkage
- Practical experience with 3D Printing for rapid prototyping and design validation.
- Strong understanding of:
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Design for Assembly (DFA)
- GD&T and Engineering Tolerances
