Description:
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to help prepare Goldwish for launch and lead its day-to-day operations. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for the team, guest experience, café operations, children’s activities and overall business performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational discipline with an understanding of hospitality and the needs of families, making children’s safety and wellbeing a priority.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre-opening preparations, including recruitment, staff training, operating procedures and launch readiness.
- Oversee daily operations across the café, children’s areas, activities and guest services.
- Recruit, lead and develop the team, with clear responsibilities, effective scheduling and consistent performance standards.
- Establish and maintain high standards of service, cleanliness and food hygiene.
- Implement children’s safety procedures covering supervision, appropriate use of equipment, routine safety checks and incident reporting.
- Ensure staff are trained in safeguarding, emergency response and clear communication with parents.
- Work closely with kitchen and café teams to maintain product quality, efficient service and stock availability.
- Manage budgets, purchasing, inventory, supplier relationships and operating costs.
- Monitor sales, guest feedback and operational performance, reporting results and improvement plans to the founders.
- Coordinate family events, celebrations and activity programmes.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and build lasting customer relationships.
- Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained and operational issues are addressed promptly.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a comparable senior operations role within hospitality, restaurants, cafés or family entertainment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and take responsibility for the performance of a venue.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost control, inventory management and service operations.
- Experience developing operating procedures and training staff.
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- A practical understanding of hygiene, children’s safety, safeguarding and the service needs of families.
- Pre-opening or new venue launch experience would be a strong advantage.
- A relevant qualification in hospitality or business management is preferred.
- Availability to work on-site, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as and when required.
