Description:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive EV Charging Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in electronics, electrical systems, and embedded technology. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and field operations - acting as the critical link between on-ground installation teams and senior technical leadership. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable configuring EV charging software, diagnosing hardware faults, coordinating with OEMs, and conducting site visits to resolve live issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- EV Charger Configuration & Software
- Install, configure, and commission EV charging stations (AC/DC) on site
- Set up and manage EV charger management software and back-end platforms (OCPP, OCPI protocols)
- Configure communication parameters, load balancing, and charging schedules
- Perform software updates, firmware upgrades, and system integrations
Fault Diagnosis & Error Resolution
- Monitor charger health and operational status remotely via dashboards and management systems
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software errors flagged by chargers or reported by field teams
- Analyses vendor-provided error codes and apply appropriate corrective actions
- Coordinate directly with Chinese OEM vendors and technical support teams for advanced troubleshooting
- Escalate unresolved issues to vendors with clear fault documentation and follow up to resolution
Site Operations & Field Support
- Conduct regular and on-demand site visits to inspect, test, and maintain EV charging infrastructure
- Oversee installation quality of EV connectors, distribution panels, cable runs, and associated electrical works
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local electrical regulations during installation and maintenance
- Provide hands-on support to field technicians and installation crews
Coordination & Communication (Middle-man Role)
- Serve as the primary technical bridge between field installation teams and senior project leadership
- Receive and evaluate technical queries from field staff; provide clear guidance and resolutions
- Relay critical technical information, fault reports, and progress updates to the main lead
- Coordinate with vendors (especially Chinese manufacturers) for parts, manuals, error codes, and remote support
- Maintain clear logs of all issues, resolutions, site visits, and vendor communications
Electronics & IoT Device Management
- Work hands-on with IoT devices, communication modules, sensors, and embedded controllers
- Support integration of IoT-based monitoring systems with EV infrastructure
- Troubleshoot electronic circuit-level issues in charger components and control boards

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a closely related field
