Description:
As our Electrical Engineer (Forecasting Data Analyst), you will be the cornerstone of our electrical load forecast model. Your primary focus will be on the meticulous gathering, validation, cleaning, and processing of critical power system data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Acquisition & Integration: Identify and gather relevant historical and real-time power system data from diverse sources (advanced metering infrastructure, smart meters, weather databases, distribution network records). Integrate data from multiple sources to ensure a comprehensive dataset.
- Data Quality & Structure: Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and reliability for forecasting models. Define key data inputs for hourly, daily, seasonal, and long-term load forecasting. Establish a structured database incorporating weather patterns, energy demand trends, grid losses, economic indicators, population growth, and distributed energy resources (DERs). Ensure sector-wise electricity consumption data is covered.
- Data Cleaning & Anomaly Detection: Implement robust data cleaning, validation, and anomaly detection mechanisms. Develop methods for handling incomplete, inconsistent, or missing data using statistical techniques and AI-driven imputation.
- Compliance & System Connectivity: Monitor and ensure compliance with international data management standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with software developers to integrate power system data into the load forecast tools, ensuring seamless connectivity with external data sources.
- Demand Driver Analysis & Training: Assist in defining key drivers of electricity demand (weather, economic indicators, population, DERs, EV adoption, energy efficiency) and ensure their inclusion in forecasting models. Train staff on data management best practices and develop guidelines/manuals for data governance and integration. Assist in documenting data-driven load forecasting methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Electrical, Energy, Power System, or a similar field.
- Language: C1-level English proficiency.
- General Professional Experience: 5 years of professional experience in the power/energy sector.
- Specific Professional Experience: 5 years of professional experience in power system modeling/load forecasting and data integration/analysis.
