Data Engineer Intern

Description:

We are seeking a motivated **Data Engineer Intern** to join our Islamabad office. The intern will support our data team in managing, cleaning, and structuring large repositories of climate change–related MRV datasets. This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about data engineering, cloud technologies, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining pipelines for large-scale MRV datasets.
* Support data ingestion, transformation, and storage using modern data engineering practices.
* Work with structured and unstructured climate data sources, ensuring accuracy and quality.
* Collaborate with the data science team to prepare datasets for analytics and reporting.
* Help optimize data workflows and contribute to the documentation of processes.
* Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with ZiCON Cloud’s policies.

Required Qualifications

* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
* Strong understanding of **databases (SQL/NoSQL), ETL processes, and data modeling.
* Hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, or other data handling libraries.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a must
* Knowledge of APIs and data integration tools preferred.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Passion for climate change, sustainability, and environmental data.
