Description:

Network of Organizations Working for Persons with Disabilities (NOWPDP), is a non-governmental

organization, established in 2008 as a disability inclusive initiative and works for the welfare,

education, skill building, and economic empowerment of persons with disabilities.

NOWPDP is seeking an individual to provide support in the programs of Shanakht, Falah and

Rehnumai.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Shanakht:

Under the ambit of ‘Shanakht’, Special CNIC camps are held that serve as a one-window operation,

facilitating persons with disabilities in attaining their identity.

• Assist in developing an annual plan for number of SCNIC camps to be held in Kohat

and other vicinities of Kohat.

• Assist team in identification and formation of partnerships with private and Government

entities to add more benefits on SCNICs for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)

• Assist in advocacy for creating ease in the process of attaining SCNIC

• Developing reports and content related to the program as and when required

Falah:

The program ‘Falah’ aims to work towards the welfare of persons with disabilities. The program

involves improving the quality of their life and providing access to assistive devices to ensure mobility

of persons with disabilities. Ration distribution and providing access to clean water are also major

components under this programmatic area.

• Assistive Device:

o Conduct scoping of assistive devices apart from wheelchairs

o Assist in developing a plan and executing the wheelchair and assistive device

distributions across Pakistan

o Research and advocate for the availability of assistive devices and their feasibility

within the Pakistani market

 

• Primary Health Clinic:

o Support team in frequent visits to ensure its operations are running smoothly

through our partner and ensure timely progress reports are submitted

o Assist in organizing medical camps in various districts across Pakistan

 

o Advocate for the availability of PWD specific medical resources all over Pakistan

• Ration Distribution:

o Oversee ration distribution drives across all three locations

 

Rehnumai:

• Assist in implementing the comprehensive and innovative community outreach plan targeting

individuals, schools, private and other organizations to reach out to persons with disabilities

• Assist with maintaining a database for candidates, potential partners and CBOs

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with representatives of community and social and

civic organizations

• Engage community leaders, community members and Disabled Peoples Organizations in

outreach programs, carried out locally, to increase their knowledge through various activities

and sessions

• Identify and engage candidates, as required by program teams – for economic empowerment,

education, and other interventions

• Determine potential partners relevant to NOWPDP through ongoing research and evaluation,

• Conduct UC coverages in the vicinity of Kohat.

NOTE: Job Responsibilities may change on the discretion of the line manager, in which case

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with majors in Social Sciences (preferred)

• 2-3 years of work experience in social development sector (preferred)

• Experience in field work and coordination

• Good writing and interpersonal communication skills

• Fluency in Urdu and English
