Airfreight Pricing Specialist

 

Description:

1. Service Overview

Provide competitive and accurate airfreight pricing solutions for import and export shipments, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with airline and regulatory requirements, and full transparency of all applicable charges.

 

2. Scope of Work

A. Rate Procurement & Quotation

  • Obtain airfreight rates from multiple airlines and consolidators.
  • Evaluate service options based on transit time, routing, capacity, and cost.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quotations including all relevant charges:
  • Freight charges
  • FSC/SCC or airline surcharges
  • Handling charges
  • D/O, documentation, and AWB fees
  • Customs, CFS, X-ray, and security charges (if applicable)
  • Ensure quotations include validity period and service conditions.

 

B. Shipment Planning & Coordination

  • Recommend the most suitable airline and routing based on cargo type, deadline, and budget.
  • Confirm space availability and block booking where required.
  • Coordinate cargo acceptance, cut-off times, and special handling requirements (DG, perishables, valuables, temperature-controlled, etc.).

 

C. Documentation & Compliance

  • Review and verify shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, COO, permits, etc.).
  • Prepare and issue the Air Waybill (AWB).
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Airline regulations
  • IATA rules
  • Export/import customs requirements
  • Provide guidance on packaging, labelling, and cargo readiness.

 

D. Operational Handling

  • Arrange pickup and delivery (if required).
  • Manage cargo acceptance at the airline terminal.
  • Follow up with ground handling agents for smooth cargo processing.
  • Ensure timely uplift and departure.

 

E. Tracking & Updates

  • Monitor shipment progress from acceptance to final destination.
  • Provide timely updates:
  • Flight details
  • Uplift confirmation
  • Transit status
  • Arrival information
  • Notify client immediately in case of delays or irregularities.

 

F. Post-Shipment Support

  • Provide POD (Proof of Delivery) where applicable.
  • Support for claims and discrepancies (loss, damage, airline issues).
  • Provide finalized invoices with proper supporting documents.

 

G. Exclusions (If Applicable)

  • Insurance (unless specifically requested).
  • Customs duties, VAT, and government authority charges.
  • Any charges arising due to incorrect documentation or delays beyond our control.
