In this role, you will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining modern, high-performing WordPress websites and plugins.
You’ll work closely with our design and backend teams to bring creative ideas to life while ensuring quality, speed, and security in every project.
We’re seeking someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and passionate about crafting smooth, functional, and visually appealing web experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins from scratch or based on provided designs.
- Implement responsive, pixel-perfect designs using Elementor, ACF, or custom templates.
- Integrate REST APIs, SDKs, and third-party services to add dynamic functionality.
- Work on WooCommerce setup, product configurations, and payment gateway integrations.
- Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and security, ensuring best practices in every build.
- Collaborate closely with designers, backend developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues, debug code, and ensure smooth user experiences across devices and browsers.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following WordPress and PHP standards.
- Manage source code using Git and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in WordPress development.
- Strong expertise in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, and custom post types.
- Hands-on experience with Elementor, ACF, and WooCommerce.
- Proven experience building custom themes and plugins (not just using prebuilt ones).
- Proficiency in responsive design systems and cross-browser compatibility.
- Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals, caching, and performance optimization (e.g., WP Rocket, Cloudflare, LiteSpeed).
- Proficient in Git and collaborative workflows using GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Headless WordPress or Next.js integrations.
- Familiarity with modern build tools like Webpack, Vite, or Gulp.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including sanitization and data validation.
- Experience managing CI/CD deployments and staging environments.
- Understanding of accessibility and performance best practices.
- Basic familiarity with Figma or design tools for accurate UI implementation.
- A strong eye for design aesthetics and a passion for delivering polished, user-friendly interfaces.
