Description:
As our Upwork Bidder, you'll be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and bidding on relevant projects across Upwork. You'll craft tailored proposals that position Potens Digital as the go-to agency for digital marketing, website design and development, software development, and content production.
This isn't a copy-paste role. You'll need to understand each project brief, match it to our capabilities, and write proposals that stand out, all while managing pipeline volume and maintaining a strong win rate.
What You'll Do
- Scout and qualify leads: Monitor Upwork daily for projects across our four service verticals: digital marketing (SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing), website services (design, development, WordPress, Shopify, landing pages), software development (web apps, iOS, Android, cross-platform), and production (video, animation, podcasts).
- Write winning proposals: Craft personalized, compelling bids tailored to each client's brief. No templates. Every proposal should reflect the prospect's pain points and position our relevant case studies, results, and expertise.
- Manage the pipeline: Track all bids, responses, and conversions. Maintain a structured system for follow-ups, client communication, and handoff to project teams.
- Collaborate with delivery teams: Work closely with the marketing, development, and production teams to understand current capacity, pricing, and relevant portfolio pieces before bidding.
- Optimize bid strategy: Analyze win/loss data, test different proposal approaches, and continuously refine your bidding strategy based on what converts.
- Maintain profile health: Keep our Upwork agency profile updated with fresh portfolio items, client reviews, and relevant skills tags.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in Upwork bidding, freelance marketplace sales, or agency business development.
- Proven track record of winning projects on Upwork or similar platforms (Freelancer, Fiverr Pro, Toptal, etc.). Share your stats; we want to see numbers.
- Strong written English — You'll be writing proposals for a Canadian audience. Grammar, tone, and persuasion all matter.
- Understanding of digital services. You don't need to be a developer or marketer, but you must understand what SEO, PPC, web development, app development, and video production entail well enough to sell them credibly.
- Self-starter mentality. You'll be working evening/night hours aligned with North American time zones. We need someone who can manage their time, stay motivated, and deliver consistently without micromanagement.
- Attention to detail. Every proposal is a first impression. Typos, generic pitches, and sloppy formatting won't cut it here.
Bonus Points
- Experience bidding for a digital marketing or software agency specifically.
- Familiarity with Upwork's algorithm, Connects strategy, and profile optimization.
- Background in copywriting, sales, or lead generation.
- Knowledge of project scoping and basic pricing for digital services.
What You'll Get
- Competitive salary (discussed at interview based on experience and track record).
- Hybrid work model: split your week between our Clifton office and home.
- Opportunity to work with a fast-growing international agency with clients across Canada, the US, and beyond.
- Direct exposure to real client acquisition: your work directly impacts revenue.
- A collaborative, no-nonsense team that values results over bureaucracy.
- Room to grow into a Business Development or Account Management role as the agency scales.
