Uk Taxation Manager

Description:

Startitup Global is seeking an experienced UK company formation & VAT accounting manager to lead UK company incorporation, VAT accounting, VAT registration and returns, HMRC compliance, and related taxation services. The candidate will oversee departmental operations, supervise team members, maintain accurate accounting records, and ensure timely and compliant delivery of services to UK and international clients.

Key Responsibilities—UK VAT Accounting

Manage UK VAT accounting, including the review of sales, purchases, input VAT, output VAT, and VAT calculations.

Oversee VAT return preparation, review, and submission within applicable deadlines.

Ensure accurate reconciliation of VAT records against accounting records and supporting documentation.

Understand VAT treatment for different transactions, including standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, and applicable reduced-rated supplies.

Review VAT records and identify discrepancies, errors, and potential compliance risks.

Manage VAT registration, deregistration, and amendments where required.

Monitor VAT filing deadlines and maintain accurate client compliance records.

Manage HMRC VAT-related correspondence and coordinate the resolution of queries.

Ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and applicable UK VAT regulations.

Supervise VAT accounting work completed by the team and maintain quality-control standards.

Required Experience

Strong practical experience in UK VAT accounting and compliance.

Hands-on experience with VAT returns, reconciliations, and HMRC processes.

Knowledge of UK company formation and Companies House procedures.

Experience managing client accounts, compliance deadlines, and departmental workflows.

Previous team management or supervisory experience.

Knowledge of UK Corporation Tax and annual statutory compliance is an advantage.
