Role Description
- Have an understanding of the UK Planning System.
- Understand the difference between planning legislation, circulars, the NPPF, online Planning Guidance, case law, and Local Plan policies.
- Be able to navigate around Council websites
- Navigate around the websites of the Environment Agency, Magic maps, other site constraints websites.
- Understand the operation and abailities of the Searchland website.
- Understand the processes involved in planning applications, planning appeals and the use of case law.
- Understand permitted development – farm buildings, extensions, use classes.
- Be capable of writing concise, sensible and well written reports. Expert level use of Word, Publisher and excel is very useful Also Publisher.
- Well spoken and capable of liaising with both clients and planning officers in Councils.
- Work with the VA to set up an efficient and easy to understand CRM system. Manage files and folders on the One Drive.
- Manage a busy workload. Set realistic targets and prioritise work under instruction.
- Daily updates for the MD on progress. Alongside updates for clients.
- Design advice for architects.
- Project mange external and internal consultants for project teams. Lead teams – setting briefs, reviewing reports and signing these off.
- Able to work with the team on AI. Drafting reports – based on templates and precedents.
