System & Network Engineer

Convex Interactive is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Junior System & Network Engineer to join its IT and infrastructure team based in Karachi. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the company’s IT infrastructure by maintaining servers, troubleshooting network-related issues, and providing timely technical assistance to ensure seamless system operations.

This role requires hands-on experience with installing, configuring, and managing UNIX/Linux-based environments, particularly Ubuntu. The Junior System & Network Engineer will also be responsible for working with virtualization platforms such as VMware or VirtualBox to support virtualized environments. Familiarity with system monitoring tools and performance tuning is essential to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

Strong networking knowledge, including an understanding of OSI network layers, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies, is vital for effectively managing network connectivity and security. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in system administration and be capable of monitoring and optimizing system performance.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively within the IT team and provide support across departments. Relevant certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or cloud-related credentials will be considered advantageous.
