The intern will contribute to environmental and sustainability projects by conducting research, analyzing data, and developing sustainability reports. Responsibilities include supporting ESG strategy development, assisting in circular economy initiatives, and preparing recommendations to enhance sustainable practices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to collect data, propose solutions, and streamline processes will also be required. We are seeking a detail-oriented Sustainability Analyst Intern to join our software house. You will serve as the "Domain Expert," helping our engineering team build a scientifically accurate carbon calculator dashboard. You will be responsible for sourcing Pakistan-specific emission data, ensuring compliance with global standards, and translating complex environmental math into logical workflows for our developers.
Key Responsibilities

- Carbon Modeling: Assist in mapping emission sources into Scope 1, 2, and 3 categories based on the GHG Protocol.
- Technical Translation: Work with the UI/UX team to design intuitive data-entry flows that non-experts can understand.
- Compliance Research: Monitor local and international regulations (like Pakistan’s Environmental Protection Act and Europe’s CBAM) to ensure the tool remains relevant for exporters.
Quality Assurance: Audit the calculator’s backend logic to ensure that "the math is right" before any code goes into production.
3. Required Skills & Qualifications
- Academic Background: Final year student or fresh graduate in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or Energy Systems from a recognized university (e.g., NUST, COMSATS, UET).
- Technical Literacy: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas/pivot tables) for initial data modeling.
- Domain Knowledge: Basic understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and carbon footprinting standards (ISO 14064).
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to handle messy, incomplete datasets and find reliable proxies for local data.
- Communication: Excellent English and Urdu skills to explain technical concepts to developers and stakeholders.
