Description:
The Specialist will assume primary responsibility for overseeing the student success domain, while also offering valuable support to the Team Lead/Functional Head. Additionally, they will play a key role in the overall management and administration of the office.
Key Accountabilities:
Support with vision, direction, and leadership:
Help identify and prioritize student issues and domains of student life needing additional support to enable student success at LUMS.
Create short-term and long-term plans for resources, programming and support for the identified populations/domains.
Identify concerns with student engagement and develop plans to consistently improve it.
Support with thought leadership, capacity-building, and collaborations:
Support Team Lead in creating new programs or making modifications to current programs based on input.
Support Team Lead in building collaborations with new stakeholders on campus to develop, enhance or modify support e.g. logistical support for programming, developing resources and program manuals, making available best practices, participating in committees and boards when appropriate, etc.
Lead 75% of the operations involved in running existing and new programs:
Ensure smooth running of SS programs by managing logistics including but limited to hiring and managing student partners, communicating and coordinating with stakeholders, conducting check ins on assigned programs.
Manage SS events, resource development and related operations, coordination and execution:
Lead the planning and supervision of SSI events throughout the academic year.
Supervise operations to ensure all events run smoothly.
Develop and sustain effective relationships with partners and executors of our programs.
Develop and update SSI digital resources through research and coordination with other relevant stakeholders, and also develop means for the dissemination of these resources.
Create effective marketing plans to deliver SSI programs/ events to the target populations effectively.
Review (support with creation if needed) the content shared on the SSI social media pages.
Implementation and monitoring:
Create short-term and long-term implementation plans to achieve the initiative’s goals.
Provide Team Lead with operational support to sustain ongoing SS programmes and events.
Develop and build upon existing program/ event monitoring and feedback tools.
Monitor the impact of initiatives for continuous improvement, identification of future goals and refinement of ongoing initiatives.
Closely record and monitor student engagement with programs and events.
Remain data-informed and research-driven:
Ensure all initiatives/approaches are informed by academic literature and global best practices, whilst being sensitive to the LUMS context.
Collect (by participating or leading) community input (students, alumni, faculty, others) to remain informed about the needs of various student populations and domains.
Curate and lead (as needed) various meeting groups and boards for continuous input.
Maintain all gathered input in a structured and cohesive manner.
General administration & logistics:
Play a leadership role in ensuring professional conduct and efficient functioning in the office by contributing to its norms, policies, protocols, etc.
Support communications, documentation and records management, etc., and ensure compliance with university regulations.
When needed, organize and manage events, meetings, etc.
Prepare operational and strategic reports highlighting the performance and achievements of the office.
Help with recruiting additional staff and student partners, or supervise assigned staff, if needed.
Actively take notes during meetings with various stakeholders.
Other:
As part of a very small office, you should be willing to participate at all levels of the office’s functioning (from basic administration to policy-setting leadership).
Provide operational support to the work of NOP Centre's other offices (if needed).

To apply for the role, you must have:
Bachelor's (Hons.) or Master's degree from an HEC recognised university.
At least 3 years of proven work experience in a research-based role with some experience in operations and office administration.
