Sr. Devops Engineer

Responsibilities

• Uses coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem
• Provides support to development teams related to deployment of their micro services to kubernetes clusters.
• Participates in architecture and software development discussions.
• Translates loosely defined requirements into solutions.
• Collaborates with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
• Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• 4+ years of experience working with a team or across multiple teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
• Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
• Experience with Linux operating system environments.
• Experience with Docker containerization and creating production-ready images.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes with exposure to managed Kubernetes services.
• Experience working with a cloud services provider such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with agile software development in Python and/or NodeJS.
• Experience in managing SQL/NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MongoDB.
• Experience working with Graph databases such as Neo4j is a plus.
• Experience with creating and managing CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment builds using CD/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
• Hands-on experience with error logging, monitoring and alerting on Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure scripting and/or configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef and/or Puppet.
