Description:
ZIN Technologies is looking for an experienced Database Developer / DBA to join our Lahore team. You will work primarily on our Telecom product while also supporting other teams with data integrations, performance tuning, and overall database health.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, monitor, and maintain ETL processes for internal and external data feeds using SSIS.
- Build and optimize complex T-SQL queries, SQL scripts, and Stored Procedures on SQL Server.
- Perform database administration on SQL Server 2014–2019 (schema changes, performance tuning, index and query optimization, backups, restores).
- Work closely with Data Science and development teams to prepare, clean, and analyze data for reporting and analytics.
- Optimize new and existing database systems for reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Define and implement security, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Ensure all work is well-documented and maintained in source control (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure they have the right data to perform their roles.
What we’re looking for (Must-have)
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience as a Database Developer / DBA.
- Strong experience creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL processes using SSIS.
- Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014–2019) and relational database concepts.
- Proven ability to write and optimize complex T-SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
Nice to have (Plus points)
- Telecom domain experience, especially subscription management and CDRs.
- Understanding of information security and data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR).
- Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments.
- Exposure to PowerShell, Azure DevOps, Git, and .NET.
- Experience generating test data for QA environments.
- Hands-on work with large datasets (>100,000 rows) or mixed-quality data.
- API integrations (JSON, RESTful APIs) using tools like Postman.
- Experience with cloud databases (ideally AWS).
