Software Development Engineer

Veeve Inc., a US based startup working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects is hiring a software engineer for their branch office in Lahore.

We are a stealth Artificial Intelligence (AI) startup based out of Seattle, WA with presence in Lahore & Islamabad. Our founding team is comprised of employees from Amazon and Google with 20+ years of industry experience. We are looking for several Software Development

Engineers of a variety of disciplines from embedded systems to large scale containerized applications. The roles involve working very closely with research science, product & operations teams globally in building world class products.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will:

• Collaborate with product managers and research scientists and build software to bring deeply intelligent solutions directly to the consumer.

• Work with cloud based (AWS, GCP, or others) solutions for storing, servicing, and computing large production datasets with minimal latencies.

• Build services & containers for products servicing consumers directly and using smart, efficient algorithms on very large datasets.

Required Experience

• Computer Science (Bachelors + minimum 2 years’ Industry experience)

• Proficient in C| C++ Python | Java | Scala | Go

• Experience working with distributed storage, caching, and compute – locally, and cloud based. (AWS/GCP - EC2, elastic cache, mongo etc.)

• EC2, Elastic Cache, Mongo DB, etc.)

• Understanding of Cloud based container architectures (e.g. Kubernetes, Lambda, Docker)

• Hands on experience building and maintaining RESTful services

• Experience managing & operating on critical software in production

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Managing large data streams (order of GB/s) and sharing across multiple devices

Preferred

• Computer Science (Masters + Industry experience)

• Working on embedded systems with millisecond latencies

• Experience building and managing (versioning) programs on embedded devices

• Deep familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting, computer, and storage

options.

• Building and deploying machine learning models is a plus.
