Description:
We're looking for a real SEO specialist, someone who owns both on-page and off-page SEO for the site, not just one half of the job. You'll be the person driving rankings: optimizing pages, building authority through backlinks and citations, writing the content that supports it, and making the WordPress/Elementor edits needed to execute all of it yourself, without waiting on a developer for routine work. This is meant to be the key hands-on SEO role for the business, the person who takes ownership of growth in organic search and reports on real movement, not just activity.
What You'll Actually Do:
On-Page SEO:
- Optimize pages for target keywords: title tags, meta descriptions, H1s, header structure, internal linking, schema markup
- Build out new service and location pages against an existing site architecture and content checklist
- Run periodic technical SEO audits and fix what you find (site speed, crawl errors, duplicate content, indexing issues)
- Monitor Google Search Console weekly and act on what it shows
Off-Page SEO:
- Build backlinks and citations through outreach, directory listings, and partnerships relevant to the local service and transportation industry
- Identify and pursue link Opportunities: local press, industry directories, vendor/venue partnerships, guest posting
- Track referring domain growth and link quality over time, not just volume
- Coordinate outreach efforts with our existing marketing/outreach hire so link building and email/social outreach aren't working in silos
- Content:
- Write new landing pages and blog posts targeting real search intent, you should be comfortable writing clean, on-brand copy yourself, not just briefing someone else
- Maintain a monthly content calendar and hit a consistent publishing cadence
- Ensure every piece of content is built with on-page SEO in mind from the first draft
- WordPress / Elementor (baseline skill, not a specialty)
- Comfortable building and editing pages in Elementor using our existing design system
- Can make routine site edits (new pages, content updates, image swaps) without needing a developer
- Knows how to clear caching correctly (WP Rocket + server-level cache) and verify changes are live
- Loop in our developer only for genuinely custom/technical work outside normal page-building
- Reporting:
- Monthly summary: rankings movement, referring domain growth, traffic trends, pages published, and what's next
- Flag anything needing business-owner input directly rather than sitting on it
What We're Looking For:
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on SEO experience covering both on-page and off-page work — this isn't a split role, so please don't apply if you've only done one side
- Genuine backlink/outreach experience, real relationship-based link building and citation work, not just spinning up directory submissions
- Ideally, experience with local/service-area limo or transportation businesses, not just e-commerce or SaaS
- Comfortable in WordPress + Elementor as a baseline skill, building pages, basic edits, no developer hand-holding needed for routine work
- Strong, clean writing in English, you'll be writing customer-facing content for a premium brand yourself
- Working knowledge of Rank Math (or similar), Google Search Console, and Semrush or Ahrefs
- Understands local SEO fundamentals: NAP consistency, GBP optimization, schema, why address/citation consistency matters
- Self-directed, comfortable owning a weekly/monthly cadence without needing daily check-ins
- Nice to Have:Experience with transportation, hospitality, or local service industries
- A portfolio showing before/after ranking or referring-domain growth on past projects, this matters more than certifications
