Senior Piping & Pipeline Designer

Global Hi-Tech is seeking a Senior Piping & Pipeline Designer to join their engineering team at their Johar Town, Lahore office. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and technically proficient individual to work on diverse and challenging projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and power sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and review of detailed 3D models and drawings for piping and pipeline systems. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, site visits, and active participation in all stages of the design lifecycle—from concept to construction and commissioning. You’ll bring a deep understanding of industry codes and standards, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant, and constructible designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review 3D piping models, general arrangements, layout drawings, isometrics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

• Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and vendor documents with precision

• Ensure that all designs comply with ASME, ANSI, API standards and client-specific requirements

• Coordinate designs with civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines

• Conduct site visits for data collection, field verification, and constructability reviews

• Prepare route maps, alignment sheets, and specialized crossing drawings (e.g., HDD, road and river crossings)

• Apply pipeline design standards such as ASME B31.4, B31.8, API codes, and corporate specifications

• Integrate geotechnical, GIS, and survey data into pipeline layouts and models

• Review trenching details, vendor drawings, and fabrication data

• Support and mentor junior designers, and provide guidance during construction and commissioning phases

• Participate in HAZOP reviews, design reviews, and constructability assessments

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in piping and pipeline design (preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation sectors)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, SmartPlant 3D, PDMS, E3D, or equivalent modeling tools

• Strong command over piping materials, support systems, stress analysis basics, and fabrication methodologies

• Familiarity with GIS-based pipeline routing tools

• Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and team collaboration ability

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D laser scanning, digital twin technology, or Building Information Modeling (BIM)

• Prior exposure to on-site construction, commissioning, or brownfield modification projects
