Senior-level Android Architect

A prestigious US-based web solutions company is actively seeking a highly experienced Android Architect to join its team in Karachi. This senior-level role requires in-depth expertise in Kotlin and/or Java, with a strong foundation in Android architecture patterns, performance optimization, and modern mobile development practices.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and architecting high-performance Android applications, enforcing clean architecture principles such as MVVM and Jetpack Compose, and working closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and backend to deliver seamless and responsive user experiences. This role also entails leading and mentoring the Android development team, managing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring compliance with security and Google Play policies, and implementing automated testing strategies.

A passion for staying updated with the latest Android trends and driving innovation is key. Candidates should be comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments with structured sprint planning and clear documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance Android applications

• Apply and promote architecture best practices (MVVM, Clean Architecture, Jetpack Compose)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure user-centric product delivery

• Optimize performance and memory usage across multiple device types

• Lead Android team efforts, mentor developers, and conduct code reviews

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies

• Ensure security, privacy compliance, and adherence to Google Play standards

• Stay abreast of industry trends and drive innovation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of Android development experience, with 3+ years in an architect/lead role

• Advanced proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java

• Strong command of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, coroutines, and asynchronous programming

• Experience with Jetpack Compose, LiveData, Room, and Navigation

• Skilled in API integration (RESTful, GraphQL) and third-party SDKs

• Proficiency with Android Studio, debugging tools, Git, and testing frameworks (e.g., Espresso)

• Agile/Scrum experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in fintech, stock market, or real-time applications

• Familiarity with Firebase, AWS, or similar cloud services

• CI/CD tools experience (Bitrise, Jenkins, Fastlane)

• Exposure to cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native)

• Basic understanding of containerization and DevOps practices
