Responsibilities
- Analyze raw data: assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processing
- Design, develop, and implement robust data pipelines using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- Write and optimize high-performance SQL queries to support data transformations and reporting
- Lead the management and optimization of our Snowflake data warehouse; strong expertise in columnar data stores is a must
- Define and maintain data quality checks and monitoring frameworks
- Partner closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data accessibility and usability
- (Bonus) Develop interactive visualizations and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau
- (Bonus) Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
- Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms
- Collaborate with engineering team to bring analytical prototypes to production
- Generate actionable insights for business improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field—or equivalent work experience
- 4-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role with increasing leadership responsibilities
- Strong command of SQL and deep understanding of relational and columnar databases
- Solid experience building ETLs with Python or similar high-level programming languages
- Expertise in Snowflake is highly preferred
- Good grasp of cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS, but GCP or Azure is also relevant
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent (preferred)
- Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools is a plus
- Deep understanding of predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms
- Fluency in a programming language (Python, C,C++, Java, SQL)
- Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau)
