Senior Backend Systems Engineer

 

Description:

We are hiring a top-tier backend / data engineer to join a high-performance team

building a multi-module software platform with complex system architecture.

This is a full software build consisting of multiple interconnected systems — not a single

feature or isolated module.

We are looking for someone who thinks in systems, moves fast, and builds clean,

scalable architecture.

You will work independently. We do not currently have an internal software team, so this

role requires a high level of autonomy, ownership, and decision-making capability.

 

What You’ll Own

You will work across multiple backend modules and system layers, including Amazon

marketplace integrations and intelligence systems:

 Amazon API integrations (SP-API, marketplace data, external data sources)

 API integration layers

 Core business logic engines

 Data ingestion and processing pipelines

 Time-series handling and structured data systems

 Forecasting and simulation engines

 Database architecture and schema design (Postgres)

 Caching layers and background job systems

 Internal tooling and structured output contracts

You will contribute to the evolution of the entire platform architecture — not just

individual components.

Ownership and architectural thinking are expected.

 

Required Skills

 Strong Python (FastAPI preferred) or Node.js (NestJS / TypeScript)

 Strong SQL (Postgres)

 Experience designing scalable backend systems

 Experience building and consuming APIs

 

 Experience working with structured and time-series data

 Strong system design fundamentals

 Ability to translate complex technical specifications into production-grade

systems

 

Strongly Preferred (Major Advantage)

 Experience with background job systems (Celery, BullMQ, Temporal, etc.)

 Redis caching and performance optimization

 Multi-tenant architecture experience

 AWS experience (S3, RDS, ECS/Fargate)

 Experience building modular, extensible software platforms

 Experience with analytics, forecasting, or simulation systems

 Direct experience working with Amazon FBA systems

 Experience building or maintaining Amazon-related software tools (SP-API

integrations, seller tools, inventory systems, PPC tools, etc.)

 

AI-First Engineering Mindset Required

You must:

 Use AI tools effectively (ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, etc.)

 Break down complex, multi-layer systems into structured solutions

 Critically validate AI-generated code

 Move fast without compromising long-term architecture quality
